flyfishing-guide-service.ch
A new brand for guided fly-fishing tours in Switzerland. The task: to set up the entire go-to-market correctly from the start. Positioning, shop, SEO, and advertising from a single source, so that the first season isn't lost as a learning phase.

STARTING POSITION
How the mandate came about.
The Flyfishing Guide Service launched as a new brand. The offering was clear, the professional expertise was there, but everything else still needed to be created: positioning, website, booking, visibility, advertising. Four areas that are usually distributed among four different service providers.
The team behind FGS did not want to go this route. They had seen how Nicola set up the same areas for Bob's Flies, his own fly-fishing brand, which Helda has been marketing and promoting for years. From this observation came the request: if one person masters positioning, Shopify, SEO, and advertising and has proven it for their own brand, the same person should do it for FGS.
The goal was not cost optimization, but precision. A new market entry has no second chance at the first attempt. If the positioning is right but the shop doesn't sell, it's wasted. If the shop works but no one finds the brand, it's just as wasted. Four areas must interlock, or they do not form a system together.
Therefore, a mandate. One contact person, one concept, one implementation, one person responsible. FGS benefits from the expertise Helda has built up in all four areas and does not have to coordinate it themselves.
IMPLEMENTATION
What was built.
Step 1
-
Positioning and Brand
Target group sharpened, offering logic built, pricing structure defined, trust elements determined. A positioning foundation upon which all further layers rest. -
Shopify with Booking System
Shop structure, tour catalog with fixed products, calendar with availabilities, booking with payment or down payment. Can be completed without further inquiry. -
SEO Architecture and Content
Page structure based on topic clusters, landing pages per body of water and offer type, content on season and conditions. Discoverable where decisions are made.
Step 2
-
Advertising and Attribution
Meta Ads for the start of the season, GA4 with booking values, UTM structure on all channels, first-click over 30 days. Basis for ongoing steering. -
Automated Repurchase Journeys
Confirmation, preliminary information with meeting point and equipment list, weather regulations, post-tour follow-up. The guide doesn't have to write three emails per booking. -
Ongoing Marketing
Seasonal campaigns, repeat bookings from existing customers, reactivation. The mandate does not end with the launch.
COURSE
How the mandate went.
The hardest part was not the technology, but the standardization. A guide who tailors each tour to the individual person does not want fixed-price products. The initial catalog draft was too crude and would have pushed good customers into the wrong categories.
We revised it twice, in close consultation with the guide. The result was a structure with clear products and a marked field for special requests. Standard cases bookable, special cases still possible. This level of understanding cannot be achieved in a workshop; it only comes when the same person also knows how customers think at the moment of purchase.
Parallel to this, the SEO architecture was launched. Instead of an overview page with continuous text, landing pages were built for each body of water and offer type, with content that addressed potential customers' questions: Where to fish when, what's included, how to get started. This is specialized fishing knowledge, written by someone who knows the water.
The first Meta campaign was closely timed to the start of the season. It was set up small so that attribution could accurately show what was working. The results provided the template for subsequent campaigns, which FGS now runs itself with our guidance.
"We didn't want to distribute this among four service providers. In the end, we would have done the coordination ourselves, without the expertise. The mandate was the right way."
From the mandate, Flyfishing Guide Service
The Outcome
FGS is a brand on the market, with a shop that sells without queries, with visibility for relevant search queries, and with an advertising logic based on hard data. The guide does the guiding, not the marketing.
What makes this case special is the occasion. FGS opted for the mandate because they saw the same offer at Bob's Flies, Nicolas' own fly-fishing brand, which Helda markets and promotes. An offer that works for one's own brand provides different proof than a presentation.
Operationally, FGS is a mandate that covers all four areas of a Go-To-Market strategy. No area was outsourced, no area remained a work in progress. This is the version of the model that works when a brand is relaunching and wants to get the first attempt right.
